Whispers of the wind ch. 9

The sun was setting in Luana, a small island town Bird was currently residing at.

She had gotten her clothes on again and was looking at herself from the mirror

"Are you leaving already?" she heard Rajiv's voice who had been looking at her for awhile before he opened his mouth.

Bird turned around to face him, but she didn't say anything.

"I mean, you could stay for a moment if you'd like.." Rajiv continued.

"But I guess you won't." he noted then when he didn't get answer and Bird left without answering him.

It was almost always like that.

They met in club about six months ago through Kaur, she was one of the people Bird first came to know

when arriving in Luana. Kaur had her own business and she recognized Bird's beauty right away and

so she hired her and Bird was willing to do anything to earn a living. So she became

one of "The girls", they entertained the customers in the club. Bird was not much of talker, but

she was beautiful and that was enough.

&She met Rajiv as he was having a performance there.

They ended up in his place and

his bed.

From that they on they had met every now and then, casually.

Rajiv was a singer and a dancer and he was already popular, but he wanted to be even better. He was also interested in Bird even though he could not make much sense of her behaviour, but there was just something about her. That mysterious woman.

"Heyy, where were youu? I tried to call you, you didn't answer."

Naomi said as Bird arrived home and she was there waiting. Naomi was one

of the girls also and Bird's roommate.

She was younger by a few years and

also very social and outgoing person, unlike Bird, but they got along well.

"I was outside., I didn't check the phone." Bird answered as she was still not that familiar with it.

"You were with Rajiv again, right?" Naomi noted with a smirk on her face,

Bird didn't say anything, somehow Naomi always seemed to know and was interested in that matter.

But Bird also had a habit of not talking much especially about herself. She still felt

like she did not have the right. Even though a year had passed since she had escaped that hell, she had never talked about it...

Bird walked upstairs to her room and she was just staring at the mirror for awhile,

and soon she sighed out loud,

before she turned around and saw that stuffed orange teddy sitting close by the window

she kept looking at it for awhile....

A Few months ago.

Rajiv had a dance rehearsal at the local studio and people were watching him, including Bird. He had invited her.

There were also some other people, Bird did not know them, only Enzo who was Rajiv's close friend,

he was also a music producer,

Rajiv was good at dancing,

but Bird's mind was somewhere else again.

she went outside to get some fresh air.

She kept looking at the sky, she still thought about

everything that had happened, what she could remember.

Bird closed her eyes as she smelled the fresh air,

wishing she could go back in time

when suddenly she felt someone's presence beside her and she opened her eyes

and as soon as she turned around she couldn't believe what she saw

"Is--it..." she stuttered

"..-rr-really...You?" her heart kept beating loudly.

"It's been awhile.."

He said, while Bird just kept staring at him.

soon he turned around to face her, looking the same as back then.

"W-where have you been? How are you?" Bird asked with a concern while a tear fell

down on her cheek as she was looking at Tera again.

He still looked beautiful, as ever.

T="It does not matter. None of that matters.."

B="I've been thinking about you eve-r since..."

"Have you? You seem to be doing pretty well it seems to me.." Tera noted then

"Without me." he continued with serious tone looking at Bird who was not

completely sure what he meant.

"Tera...I..."

"It doesn't matter really. It's all over, I exist in your mind only."

Tera continued then, and Bird's heart felt heavy when she

realized it was just her imagination, him.

"What..What do-- you --mea-n?"

"You know that already, I am not real." Tera continued

and turned his face away from Bird.

"But..."

"Goodbye, Bird. It's time for you to forget me already." Bird heard him say

and soon she realized she was there all alone.

Her heart felt really heavy

and she weeped silently just standing there.

"I...I...a-m s-s-sorry.." Bird weeped as she kept thinking about him, she felt quilty

for a reason she did not know. She regretted and dwell in the moments they had.

"I'ts all...m-y fa-ult." she cried.

While Rajiv kept looking at her from afar.

He walked closer to her without her noticing and soon embraced her.

"Don't cry, everything is all right." he said while holding her.

But his words were not comforting to her,

she felt suffocated,

because she kept thinking about Tera,

their moments together,

the were on loop in her mind

"Don't touch me!"

She screamed as she pushed Rajiv away with all her strength

"Leave me alone." she continued as she walked away from him,

well there was nothing

he could've done at that moment, she had always been like that.

Rajiv kept thinking about her behaviour as he got home, but

he could not make sense of it.

"Ugh, why am I even thinking about this woman..."

he sighed out loud. He really could not understand her mind at all even though she definitely was hurting for some reason.

At the same time Bird was laying on her bed, looking at the ceiling

"Just forget everything."

"It doesn't matter really. It's all over, I exist in your mind only."

She replayed Tera's words in her mind, over and over again, she had still been waiting for him, hoping him to be okay....To know if he was still alive..

A few days later, Rajiv was excersing in his own studio room that was in the downstairs of his house

soon, he noticed that Bird had arrived there without saying a word,

they had not talked

since that evening.

They just kept looking at each other after Rajiv turned around to face her....
