Whispers of the wind ch. 40

A few weeks later, Bird went to the countryside, visiting the castle that used to be her home.

After Bird got free from Kaius, she had been afraid to know about her past more and had tried to just

forget about it..

but..

now..

after all that had happened, she still had a yearning for the place,

so she visited the castle on the hill..

it was still the same as then,

the last time,

even though there was hardly any furniture,

it was quite empty,

Bird still could somehow sense the

feeling of warmth & home there.

The place felt familiar

even though she didn't really remember it,

but it was a feeling, like,

she had been there before,

she had the same feeling even

back then when Tera took her there..

Bird was walking through the rooms

and as she went to the main bedroom..

suddenly..

for a brief moment,

she could see two people

standing there

before her eyes,

they were smiling,

&they looked familiar..

Bird wasn't sure was she hallucinating

because it couldn't be..

and in a moment they were gone..

Bird weeped silently.

Soon she walked to a room with two urns,

it seemed like a memorial room.

and she had a feeling about it instantly..

"You've finally found your way back here?"

Bird heard a voice she remembered she had heard before.

as she turned her head she saw Mirana.

M="Do not be startled, it's alright, you're in the right place."

B="Wh-h-y are you here?"

M="I come here every year, around this time,

there's a lot of history in this place

and you're a very big part of it.."

M="A part of you will always be drawn in here,

naturally, as you're the only heir of my late

brother Alvar, and his wife, Parsia.

My brother and Parsia were very

proud of you and wanted you to have everything

you wanted, however, they were also very

protective of you.

So, my brother wanted me to find a suitable

candidate, a person with no ambition or

greed to protect you,

And so I introduced Terabithia to him.

He was an orphan since his parents passed away

when he was just a child, so I took

him under my wing, he was very obedient,

but I soon noticed that he had very special talents,

so when my brother asked about him, I knew

I was supposed to send him to you.

Terabithia swore to protect you with his life,

and my brother immediately liked him,

very much..

So much that I believe that he was going to

arrange a marriage for you and him.

However, unfortunately your parents

were attacked by a demon and that

changed everything,

it was going to attck you also,

but we could stop it, but

as you witnessed the brutality, you

were badly traumatized for it,

and that was the reason I had to erase

your memories and send

you away..

to your aunt, Parsia's half sister Elliza

who lived in the city, far away from here.

It was our only chance back then,

it was too dangerous for you to stay here,

so I sent you away so you could start over

and live a normal life,

but then...

Kaius took a liking to you and he murdered

Elliza and took you away and for awhile

we didn't know where you were.

As I found out it was Kaius I immediately

send Terabithia there, to protect you.

I knew it wasn't easy to get you

out of there since Kaius was

very powerful but I Terabithia was cabable

so I knew I could get a hold of you through him."

B="He..Knew ev-erything.."

M="Yes, but I forbid him to treat you like he knew you, because

it was dangerous.."

B="But...Why?"

M="To make Kaius believe that Terabithia was loyal to him. Actually, we had a plan to get you back, but then you escaped and Kaius got furious because Terabithia tried to help you escape, he found out.

Kaius and his Horos drained Terabithia's abilities

and powers completely so for a few years

he couldn't really help you,

but he was always watching over you..

and after he mastered his powers,

back then..

he was the one who destroyed Kaius.

Sorry that I didn't tell you this earlier, it was Tera's wish.

Now at this point it would be possible to get your memories back,

but I heard that it's not what you want because that would mean that we would have to send you back in time."

B="So it was true..It really happened."

M="You mean Horos?..Yeah, it did. But now it's over for good.

You do not need to be afraid anymore, you're really

completely free..

Also, there's something I'd like to give you..

It's your mother's. She wanted me to give this to you.

It will protect you and your unborn child,

congratulations Bird."

Bird turned around hugging Mirana and she cried,

Mirana hugged her back.

M="My dear, may you be blessed with a life long happiness."

B="What about Tera? Do.. you know where he is"

M="Not really, he's free now too so he doesn't need to report to me anymore,

I'm sure he'll do just fine though."

B="There's many things I still would like to say to him,

but I feel like I won't see him anymore, I don't know how to

thank him.."

"Bird, be happy, that's what he would want,

I'm sure of that, so just be happy."

Be happy."

Bird went outisde, down the hill and

just looked at the ocean before her eyes

and she smiled while tears fell down her cheeks...

"Dear Tera,

even though I can't remember how we met for the first time, I remember you ever since

I saw you at the castle, back then...

Words couldn't ever express my gratitude

towards you, for everything..

you saved me, so many times..

even without me knowing it.

I know you did everything you could

to protect me..

and for that I'm forever grateful.

For every moment I got to spend with you, experiencing my first love with you,

being protected by you, I'll never forget. I'll cherish those moments forever.

You were always with me, even though I couldn't see you..

I felt it,

I know now, it was really you.

Thank you.

I know I know I can't really ever repay in this life,

but I promise..

In my next life, if there is something like that,

I'd meet you again, I'd want to meet you again.

I would repay you a thousand times,

for everything.

I promise, I'll be happy, I will be happy

and I will meet you again.

Bird smiled while the snow flakes fell from the blue sky again,

delivering Bird's thoughts with the wind..

YEARS AGO:

Tera was playing the flute outside,

and Bird came to listen.

The melody was really beautiful & magical.

"Wow, it's so beautiful."

Bird said when Tera noticed Bird there, he didn't

say anything.

"Have you always been good at this?" Bird continued.

"You seem to be pretty quiet, but let me tell you, when someone asks you something, it would be polite to answer." Bird continued soon.

"I'm sorry, I..m just not good with words, my lady.."

he said with a calm voice and it started snowing,

and he looked up to the sky and Bird kept looking at him,

while he heart was beating fast.

He was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, he had so unique looks,

she fell in love with him in that exact moment.

and she approached him, touching his face;

"It doesn't matter really, you don't have to talk..

just stay with me..

always

that's enough,

promise me that." Bird said while gently

kissing Tera on the cheek.

"I promise."

In a way it makes me emotional since the story has been

living in my mind for many years before I even started
