Whispers of the wind ch. 8

"Your skin..." Tera said softly

as he touched Birds cheek looking at her intensely. "Is soft."

"Your skin, is not warm.."

Bird said as she also touched Tera's naked skin

"but it's not cold either." she continued, tracing him like his body was a map.

"Your heart..."

she continued as she touched his torso.

"It's not beating like yours." Tera noted then.

"Huh?" Bird mumbled.

"I don't have a heart like that." Tera continued as he touched Bird's hand with his.

"And warmth like this.." he continued as her hands were so warm.

"It doesn't matter."

Bird said before she kissed him,

and he soon answered the kiss, letting her lead.

And they ended up making love, all the way...

"Let's just stay like this for awhile." Bird said after, when they were laying on the bed.

Tera didn't answer, but he held her in his arms.

"You know, I've always dreamed of getting away from that cage. I've always wanted to be free, but it has just been a dream." Bird confessed softly

"I wish I could be free forever." Bird said then as tear fell down

on her cheek.

"I wish I could be free like a real bird and then I would just fly far away."

she continued as she was already half asleep while Tera just hold her. He was his usual quiet self,

but he listened to her. & He held her until she fell asleep.

& as the night approached the world once again, Kaius was meeting with the masks, as Lome had informed him of what happened.

"This is all your fault." Kaius said to Horos who was also there.

"If you had brought her here right away, this would've not happened,

but instead, you followed your beastly instincts."

Kaius continued while the masks

just looked at them. Horos was unlikely silent this time. Well, what Kaius said was true.

"& you thought I would not know or why it is that you did something so absolutely stupid?"

Kaius noted as he suddenly grabbed Horos by the neck.

"Look, I was just having some fun."

"Fun? With your fangs poisoning her, you know if she is now

dead because of that, it will be the end of you my brother, I promise you that."

"Well, she's not dead. You know that bastard took her, and he also attacked me, so you should focus your energy on that one, brother." Horos answered then,

"Well I am not sure if she's still alive..." Kaius asked the masks as he let

go of Horos.

"Yes, sir. She is." Lome informed

"And how so?"

"I know lady Bird is alive, he would never let her die or do anything to harm her." Lome answered.

"Is that so..?" Kaius grunted

"Well, find them as soon as possible and bring them to me. There is no time to waste."

"& bring them to me alive. I want to finish him myself."

"Yes, sir." The masks all answered.

Later, Kaius went to upstairs to the bedroom, where there was a portrait of Bird in the wall

"You think you can run away from me?" He thought while looking at her.

"You stupid girl."

and in his anger and frustration he started screaming like a beast.

At the same time, Tera touched Bird's cheek as she was sleeping.

She still had tears in her eyes, though it didn't seem like she was having a bad dream. She looked very peaceful, he just kept looking at her knowing that there was not much time anymore...

A day went by,

K= "So how come I see you guys coming here empty handed?"

"We've looked everywhere... No sign, sir."

K= "How's that possible... They can't disappear just like that.."

Kaius noted,

"Sir, they can be almost anywhere, it's a little complicated to find them like this..."

K= "I don't care how complicated , I told you to find them. Bring them to me immediately before my patience runs out and I will kill you all!"

"Yes sir."

the masks answered while Horos was also in the back listening.

"You're leaving now? But it's dangerous..."

T= "If I don't go, you will be in danger."

B= "But what about you? I'd rather stay with you.."

T= "We can't do that.. They will find us here if I stay.."

B= "But he will kill you.."

T= "It's not going to be that easy.."

B= "Why are you risking yourself for me, I don't understand.. Let's stay together,

or I can go with you..."

"Back there? You should get as far as you can from there, my lady." Tera said and he was right.

That place was like a hell.

"I would not want you to suffer there anymore, that is why I didn't try to stop you from leaving. Even though I knew there would be consequences of that. But I am able to fight them if necessary, but you, you need to be safe. I can't risk your life, my lady," Tera said before he kneeled down in front of Bird.

I will protect you. I promise. I ask of

you to allow me to leave now."

"If..i-if you must...." Bird answered with hesitation though she knew their moment

together wouldn't last long, it still felt too soon.

"Will..w-ill I see you again?" Bird asked as Tera got up & her eyes were filled with tears again.

She already knew the answer and felt her chest tighten when she looked at him.

"I don't know.."

It was raining quite hard once again,

Kaius was looking at Birds portrait again, he was getting more and more frustrated every moment that went by and she was out of his reach.

One of his men, Lo approached him

"Sir.."

"What is it? "

"Did you find them?"

"It's about Terabithia.."

ABOUT A YEAR LATER

"Before, you go...I...I...wanted to thank you for saving my life."

"I..never said that.." Bird stuttered when Tera was already leaving,

T= "You don't have to thank me for that."

T= "Just forget everything and take care of yourself."

B= "But I don't know where to go..What will I do? I.."

T="You can go wherever you want, my lady."

"You are free."

Tera said and in a flash he was gone before Bird really could answer anything.
