Whispers of the wind ch. 16 /pt.1

As the days passed Bird still thought about Rajiv every time she saw that teddy bear.

"Don't go."

she remembered his words the last time she saw him.

She had not explained him anything, why she left, & he didn't know anything about her & her

past that still seemed to chase after her.

And she still had many parts of her past missing.

A lot of things she wanted to find out & she knew that

who could help her was..

"I'm sorry for everything, my lady."

...Him. Terabithia.

It had been over a year since the last time Bird saw him, but she felt the same warmth towards him, that feeling she had never felt with anyone before. Even though he had not contacted her before, even though he had ignored her, she didn't really mind it. She was just happy that he was alive.

Tera was in his room, he had kept thinking about the other day also,

the hug.

It may have been a little bit out of place for him to do so, but he just did it without thinking much, because he didn't want her to cry.

Tera sighed, maybe he should've thought about it a little more...

"Umm.."

Tera heard Bird's voice behind of him suddenly.

"I..I didn't mean to interrupt you.." Bird said

B="There's just something..I'd like to know.."

T="What is it?"

"Well..I.." Bird started, but..

as Tera turned around

and she could properly see his face, because he was not wearing those sunglasses, Bird was

out of words, her expression said it all.

" You..Your.." she stuttered as she could see that

Tera's face,

his right eye and the skin around it was scarred.

Tear fell down Bird's cheek as she just looked at him,

B="What hap-pened..."

"Don't worry about it.."

Tera answered as he turned around again.

B="I..I'm sorry.."

"Don't be, it's not your fault..."

Tera sighed as he heard her leaving.

But Bird knew it must've been because of her.

Her heart felt heavy as she kept thinking about it.

Tera's face,

he had been hurt. His skin and

his eye,

she could only imagine what had happened...

The next day,

Bird was outside at the garden,

she was in her thoughts

when suddenly Neri appeared beside her saying

"We meet again.."

"I thought I warned you the last time we met,

you seem to be asking for danger.." she continued

B="I..."

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Neri said then interrupting Bird..

"My father's memorial.."

B="Y-o-ur father..?"

N="He liked Tera, that's why he took him in after I found him

injured in the shore.

He didn't talk much and half of his face was

cut open.

He never told me what actually happened, but he had been attacked by Kaius Vitus.

My father knew Kaius many many years back.

And so that way I think he knew Tera even without really meeting him.

Tera had lost all his powers when he came here. He still has not regained them completely, I am not sure why, it must have something to do with Kaius...

My father passed away half a year ago,

since then Tera had been trying to search for Kaius.

He never told me why, but

when I saw you in the club, I knew it had something to with you.

It seemed like you two have some kind of history together.

He never shared the details, but I do know that he had been watching over you, without you knowing

because he figured it was the only way.

Then I got to know that you're the woman Kaius Vitus is obsessed with and hid in his apartment and Tera also served him in the past.."

Now...I do not know what kind of relationship you two have, but him risking his life for you even now tells me that you are someone he wants to protect no matter what." Neri said

as tears fell down Bird's cheeks again.

"It's dangerous, even for him. He barely managed to survive

from last time & if it happens again, it may be the end of him..

That is why I told you to stay away, but here you are,

N="because you want to protect the people on the island?"

"You think you're protecting someone by coming here?" Neri said and by that Bird knew she meant Rajiv and others in Luana.

"You may protect them, but you're causing more harm to Tera now that you're here.. Are you even aware of that? You said that you don't want to him to get hurt, but still you're using him to protect someone else?"

"No, I wouldn't.." Bird stuttered

N="Hasn't he done enough for you already?"
