Whispers of the wind ch. 34

Bird was at the bathroom. She had just showered

and changed on her night gown on,

she couldn't stop thinking about...

Y="Did you throw up?"

B="I umm, a little.. I've been feeling a little nauseous.."

Y="For how long?"

B="Just a few d-days, it's nothing..."

Y="Are you late?"

B="Huhh?"

Y="From your period?

When was the last time you had your period?"

B="It.. it's been about a little over a month, I think.."

Y="And now you have nausea, dizziness for a few days.."

Y="You might need to take a pregnancy test honey."

B="Pregnancy test?"

Y="Yes honey. You might be pregnant.."

"Pregnant? That was the only word Bird

had been thinking ever since.

It had not come to her mind.

Of course, it was possible, but Bird felt so nervous she hoped it would not be it.

Preganant?

"Why are you standing there?"

Bird was startled to hear Dorian's voice who

was standing behind her.

"Come to bed will you?" Dorian asked

with a smile.

That night..Bird kept lying awake,

she was looking at Dorian who was sleeping next to her,

thinking what she would do

if,

if, by some reason,

she was pregnant.

It was a scary thought,

Bird was not ready for that,

she had never imagined herself as a mother,

no,

it made her feel anxious.

She closed her eyes and hoped that it wasn't true.

The next week at work, Bird was zoning out

with her thoughts.

Y="You might be pregnant.."

She couldn't stop thinking about it, but she was scared to but the test even though

she knew that she probably had to do it.

"Hey are you going to buy something from there or..?"

Ronnie, Bird's coworker asked as she noticed Bird

just standing there.

B="Ohh, umm.."

R="You seem a little pale, I think you might need to eat something.."

B="I'll eat quickly and come then."

R="No, just take your time I can manage. Don't worry.."

Bird stopped by to the convenience store on her way back

and bought a test kit. She read the instructions many times before doing the test.

She just stared at the test stick,

for half an hour even though the result came out in 5 minutes.

She just couldn't move anywhere for awhile.

It was positive.

Bird went to bed, &the first thing she wanted to

do was tell Dorian.

D="Hey, I was just going to call you, what's up? How was work?"

B="Hey, it was okay..How about you?

You've had a long day.."

D="Yep a bit, I'm actually quite tired, the schedule was quite rough and it'll

continue tomorrow.."

B="Oh, you must be tired then.."

D="Yeah, but what about you? Anything new?"

"Yes, I'm pregnant."

Bird thought in her head for a moment, but....

she couldn't say it.

B="No, not really..I...I just wanted to hear your voice."

D="Me too.."

B="Well.... I'll let you sleep now, sleep well, good night."

D="You too honey, don't stay up too late, good night."

Dorian said and Bird hang up.

Dorian was quite sure though that there must've been something

she didn't tell him..

Bird was laying on the bed,

she should've told him,

but she couldn't.

Maybe it was better he didn't know...

Pregnant?

"The results came out, congratulations,

you're pregnant, 7 weeks, so it's just the beginning Mrs. Sherwood."

B="But I use contraceptive.. so..Are you sure?"

"Even with contraceptive, pregnancy is possible

even though it's not usual, it can happen.." Doctor Danielle Scott said.

"What if..

I want to...

have an abortion?" Bird asked.

A FEW DAYS LATER...

Bird was standing outside,

staring at the endless looking sea infront of her,

when

she could hear

someone walking beside her

"It's been a long time."

she heard a voice she remembered

and she lift her head immediately

to see him.
