Whispers of the wind ch. 23

On a beautiful sunny afternoon,

close by a little town in Windtal,

on Tlatilpa's residence,

Bird stood outside,

enjoying the warm weather

& admiring the view.

A="I knew you would be right here.."

she turned around when she heard a familiar voice.

"It's a nice weather, I wanted to see the sunset." Bird answered

b="And who are you with?"

A="Someone I want to introduce you to.."

A="This is Terabithia, he will staying with us from now on.."

"Terabithia, here's my daughter, Bird."

Alvar said and Terabithia bowed respectfully.

B="Terabithia?"

B="I can call you Tera then?"

B="It's nice to meet you."

"I think we'll get along very well, Tera."

Bird said with a smile

while Tera just looked at her

like she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen.

She was.

Bird was looking at her reflection from the mirror.

Her body was full of scars that she was not used to

even now,

even though it had been many years...

3 years ago, Kaius died, for a reason unknown. Until then, Bird had been living with his tormenting.He had abused her quite badly, over the years.

"Madam.."

Lome said as he approached Bird

"You're free to go wherever you want now, so...

Perhaps you want me to find Terabithia for you?"

B="No.."

L="Are you sure?"

B="I can't meet him again..Do not search him.."

L="As you wish madam.."

B="And also, you can stop calling me that now..

You're also free to go, so go, and don't ever come back.."

B="Leave, that's my last order for you..."

L="As you wish. Take care, madam."

& after Lome left,

Bird kept staring at the coffin and Kaius' portrait as tears fell down her cheeks,

because even though Kaius was gone,

he had left marks on her over the past years that could never be erased and she felt like

she had no right to try to contact Tera anymore,

she was ashamed,

& so she never tried to find him & the years had passed by.

Even though it had been almost 4 years since she had left that place behind already,

the scars on her body and inside of her mind were deep..

She had lost a lot of weight also.

Bird had lived a quiet life, she moved to a new city and studied now to become a Cosmetologist. She lived in Saffron Bay, for 3 years now, & still unsure of her past, She had become scared of it, and because of everything that had happened, she stopped trying to find the answers about it.

She had started to think that it was maybe better she didn't remember at all. But she still kept the pictures of her and her aunt, even though she didn't remember her.

It was a bit chilly autumn day in Saffron Bay

& Bird was practicing yoga with her friend Yasmin.

Yaz was also working at the cosmetic industry.

Y="Do you want to grab a coffee or.."

B="Actually I need to get to class soon.."

Y="Ok, I'll see you at Dorian's tomorrow then..?"

"I don't know if I can go, I have a few assignments I need to get ready.."

Y="Well, just for a few hours then. I want you to be there., so please, come."

"Y=You're coming, right?"

B="Then, I guess..."

Y="Great! I'll see you then."

& Bird spent the evening by studying.

And the next day, she got ready for the party,

she still had hesitated going because Yaz had suddenly cancelled.

She was the one who insisted her to go and now she wasn't going

herself. What was that about?

So when Yaz wasn't going, Bird didn't know what she would do there.

It was a halloween themed party, since it was that time of the year.

At Dorian's place. Dorian was Yaz's younger brother and Bird knew him through Yaz.

As Bird got to his place, she got a few drinks at the bar outside.

Samira, who was at the same class as her joined her.

S="Everyone is inside, how about going there?"

"Yeah, I'm going soon." Bird answered.

Actually, even though she knew Dorian,

she didn't really like parties that much & she wasn't good with people

so to overcome her anxiety she drank to the point that she would become more social.

And that worked.

Bird had fun. Later in the evening, others had already left, but Bird didn't even notice.

"How's my dance?" she asked as she noticed Dorian looking at her.

B="I'm good, right?"

"Definitely." Dorian answered with a smile.

D="It's getting late though, everyone else already left.."

"Really? I was just thinking of getting another drink..."

Bird said though she felt a little bit tired

D="Are you okay?"

"Yes, sure, I'm fine.." Bird answered, she felt a little bit dizzy.

D="I think you had enough of drinks already.."

B="Hahaha, don't worry, I'm completely fi..."

Bird laughed when she suddenly lost her balance...

but Dorian caught her before she fell.

"You..Are you okay?" He asked a bit startled.

"I don't...Know.." Bird asked

B="I really..Don't know."

"I still wish..

all this was a dream and I'd wake up, if this is a dream, I would want to wake up now.."

Bird continued

Dorian listened to her without saying anything even though he was not sure what she meant.

"I'd like to wake up and..and.."

Bird sighed as she closed her eyes

"It's warm...Like this.." Bird sighed.

She leaned towards Dorian even more.

He took a deep breath & kept holding her silently.
