Whispers of the wind ch. 12

Bird was laying on her bed, 'till late morning.

She was still thinking of yesterday & Rajiv's words..

"Next saturday, I'm performing at Studio, you're coming right?"

"I hope you would come.. It would mean a lot to me that the people

who are close to me would come.."

"I was thinking, maybe we should really date.."

Those words, Bird kept replaying them in her head and she couldn't stop.

She didn't know why.

Naomi was downstairs drinking wine, when she noticed Bird coming downstairs.

N="Well, good morning..I didn't know you were home, usually you are up earlier.."

B="Um, I...I came back yesterday evening.."

N="Oh, is that so.. You were with Rajiv?"

B="Yes, about that.." Bird started

N="Yes?"

B="He asked me to date him.."

N="So, did you answer him?.."

B="Not yet, I don't know.. What to answer.."

N="Well, that is up to you.. No one else can really make that one for you..But

if you like him then I could give you an friendly advice, just go for it."

"Like?" Bird thought to herself. She was not sure what Naomi meant by that,

but ever since she had been thinking Rajiv and his words.

A week passed by....

Bird was all dolled up for the evening when they were supposed to go

to the nightclub.

She was looking the the teddy Rajiv had given her, she still

had not figured out how to answer him.

"Here you are doll, ready to go?" Bird heard Kaur's voice behind of her

and as she turned around, she was standing right infront of her with Naomi.

"You look really pretty Birdie." Naomi said right away with a smile.

"Oh, you too." Bird answered

K="Are you ready to go then?"

N="And are you going to answer him?"

B="Umm I still don't know.."

K="Know what?"

N="Oh, Rajiv asked Bird to date him a week back.."

K="Is that so? Then he really must like you..And you?"

B="Huh?"

K="Do you like Rajiv?"

That question was on Bird's mind when she was looking at Rajiv performing.

To like someone, what did it actually mean? She wasn't completely sure.

Maybe she did,like him. Did he like her? Was he waiting for her to answer him? What dating would have meant between them two? After all, he was a popular artist who loved being around people and Bird, was not that good at that. People. After all, she had been isolated many years with Kaius and she really didn't know anyone back then. Not even herself.

She still didn't know. But it was the first time she had actually made friends and they seemed to be fine with her being the way she was, even Rajiv. Even though she wanted to be different herself. &She didn't understand why he wanted to date her...

Bird's mind was on that matter until suddenly she saw someone else...

Someone who instantly made her heart beat faster. & suddenly she was not sure anymore was it a dream..

Her eyes were looking at the corner of the dance floor where

she saw him standing.

That silver colored hair, even though it was

shorter now, it must've been....

"T-t-e-ra?"

she approached him so that she could see him closer

"T-t-era, i-s it rea-lly you?" she stuttered with her words, and he didn't

seem to acknowledge her..

"I-i-s it.. Yo-u? D-o you...Rem-e-mbe-r me..?" Bird continued as the whole world

around her had disappeared.

Then he turned around to face her, he was wearing sunglasses

so she could not really see his eyes,

also, he had a scar on his right cheek..

"I..."

"I...---" Bird stuttered even more as he was looking at her, without words,

"W-her-e hav-e you been, I've wai-ted.." Bird continued and her heart kept racing as he

didn't really answer anything.

B="I..I thought you...Migh-t have..."

"We should go now.."

Bird was interrupted by some woman who had a silver colored hair also.

"Sure." Tera answered then

and that's how Bird knew it was really him. His voice, she had not forgotten it. It still had the same calm, gentle tone in it.

but he just walked past her not saying a word to her.

She didn't understand,

she didn't understand at all, why he was acting like that towards her?..

And so she ran after them, just as they were leaving...

"wait!"

"Why..Are you ignoring me?" Bird asked as tears had rolled down on her cheeks

"Why are you not...A-nswering me? Where have you-- been?" Bird continued

as the woman behind Tera looked at him. Her name was Neri Yan and she knew right

away,there was something going on between the two.

"You can go first, I'll follow soon.."

Tera said then with a calm voice to Neri

"Okay then.."

she answered and as she left, Bird walked closer to Tera.

"What happen-ed to you?"

Bird asked, as Tera didn't turn around to face her.

B="I-- was waiting fo-r you, I even though-t you might've..."

T= "I told you to forget everything."

B="But..How..Could I?"

T="For your own good."

B= "But...I can't. I can't forget, I'll never forget. For the past

year, I w-as alway-s wondering ab-out you and I felt..guilt

over wh-at happened..."

"That is past now. Continue your life as it is.." Tera answered then,

he seemed different, different from what he was, back then..

also Rajiv was looking at them from afar

B= "But I don't understand..."

"You don't have to understand, just listen to me." Tera said

and he disappeared before Bird could say anything,

and soon she fell to the ground crying. She couldn't stop her tears

she kept thinking of Tera, their moments in the past.

"I told you to forget everything."

"How?" she cried while Rajiv still stood there, but he didn't approach her.

&that night, Bird couldn't really sleep.

She still could not believe that suddenly she had seen Tera again, yet he acted in a way like it all had meant nothing. Her heart felt heavy. She had so many questions he had not answered..

Rajiv had

also been thinking of what he saw earlier,

he didn't

know what was going on between them.

but he did know

that it must've been someone important to Bird,

considering her reaction.

Seeing her crying like that when she usually didn't show much emotions, confirmed his thoughts.

Tera was standing infront

of a mirror,

showing his face, which had

changed over the year,

half of it was scarred.

He sighed as he closed his eyes.

Neri was standing outside

of his room,

she knew who Bird was without him ever needing to tell her....

The next day, as soon as Bird woke up she remembered what had happened

yesterday, she couldn't really forget that.

She never had imagined that

meeting Tera again would feel like that, she was even more sad,

but

she was also relieved to know that he was okay, that he was alive.

N="So after you like left we had a lot of fun.."

K="Yeah, it was quite crazy, you should've been there.."

N="Where did you go by the way? You left with Rajiv?"

B="Oh,, no...I was not feeling well so..."

"Oh okay, he also left soon after you disappeared so we thought you two left together.."

Naomi said, Bird had not known that. Actually she had

not thought about Rajiv at all after yesterday,

there

had been other things on mind ever since...

But now that she was reminded of him, she felt bad about that also..

Her friends had not seen her with Tera and that made her question it all again, maybe it was just a dream...

& at the middle

of the conversation with her friends, she zoned out....

"Is everything alright?" Kaur asked Bird later as she was inside looking

at the aquarium Kaur had.

"Has something happened?" Kaur asked then.

K="I was thinking maybe something happened between you and R."

"No..Not really.." Bird said silently

"What is bothering you

honey just let me know, I think I can help.." Kaur continued, he seemed to have noticed that something was on Bird's mind even though Bird had not talked about it.

"Well..I..."

"Hola amigos!"

they were interrupted by Enzo who suddenly was standing behind them.

K="Oh, Enzo... I thought you were coming later today and with Rajiv.."

E="Well, it's just me.. I didn't get Rajiv to come, he said he was

feeling a bit under the weather.."

"Under the weather...Him?" Kaur asked as that was unusual, Kaur had known Enzo and Rajiv since they were kids.

"Yep, but he said he's be there at your birthday party so don't worry."

Enzo said while smiling.

"He's at home. just in case, if you're curious.." Enzo continued looking at Bird. Seemed like he was undirectly telling her to go to him.

As the day was starting to turn into an evening,

Bird was standing outside

looking at the great Luana scenery, it was really beautiful there.

Bird was in her thoughts when she heard someone walk beside her,

and as she turned around she saw her...

That woman from before, who had been with Tera at the Studio....
