Whispers of the wind ch. 30

"Well well who are you, you know this lady?" The random guy asked Dorian who had just witnessed him harassing Bird verbally & he was not in any way happy about it.

"You should know that leaving a woman like

this alone could be very dangerous.."

"I mean, she could get stolen away.."

"You know what I mean?" that guy continued with a smirk, but..

Dorian was not really into his bad jokes

and so,

suddenly Dorian tackled him into the ground

while Bird was shook.

"What the hell are you doing?" the guy asked.

D="Just felt like shutting your stupid mouth."

"Huh?"

D="Enough of that bullshit."

"You know what happens to men like you who harass others, want me to show you?" Dorian continued while pressing his foot against the guy's chest.

D="A piece of trash like you who thinks he has the right to

say whatever he wants really gets on my nerves you know?"

"Okay, okay, easy boy, I was just joking.."

D="Very lame jokes you have, how about an apology?"

"Ok, ok, sorry, I'm sorry, is that enough?"

"For me, surely not, but I'll let her decide.." Dorian said as he pressed the ransom even more down while Bird was looking at them

and her heart was racing, because of him...

After that,

Dorian walked Bird home, holding her hand, he didn't say anything until

they were outside of her house.

"I..Um, thanks, you didn't have to do what you did in the club,

I mean..I'm used to it.." Bird said then, which was true. It wasn't the first time someone acted that way towards her.

D="You should not be, it's not okay.."

"No one should ever treat you like that, not once." Dorian said

and even though Bird was used to random people approaching her like the guy at the club earlier, she was not used to someone defending, like Dorian did.

"Why?" She asked because she was curious

D="Because you're not an object, you're a human being and

you should be treated like one, like the amazing person that

you are."

B="Amazing? How can you say that, you don't know everything about me..."

D="I know enough. I know that you're a good person even if I may

not know where you came from or what has happened in your past,

I know the person you are now and your past doesn't define you, I hope you understand that."

D="I hope you could see yourself the way I see you,

then you would understand, everything,

especially,

how amazing you are.. "

"Good night, Bird. "

Dorian said before he left and Bird just stood there, her heart felt heavy,

she felt very sad,

Dorian's words made her sad and he was probably right, Bird didn't love herself enough,

she couldn't love herself because of everything that had happened

to her,

she had hated to be in her own skin after she

had been violated for years in many ways,

she still felt uncomfortable about her scars and tried to hide them and hide herself also,

she wanted to hide from the pain and to do so she also pushed people away, but she didn't understand why her heart was aching so much still?

"You have a really nice home, Bird."

Kaur said when she was visiting Bird.

K="The view is really nice up here.."

B="Thank you...Do you want a coffee or something?"

B="Yeah, I'm sorry about that, I wasn't feeling well so.."

K="Oh, of course I understand, I saw you leaving with someone, who was he?"

B="He's a friend.."

B="He's my friend's brother,he walked me home that's all.."

K="Hand in hand?"

B="Huhh?"

K="You were holding hands when you left and there seemed to

be some kind of tension between the two of you..Bird, it's okay if

you like him.."

"No, I uhh, we..He's.." Bird stuttered

K="It was the same with Rajiv back then..."

K="You never told us, but I could see it in your eyes and expressions,

it was the same back then too."

B="Huhh?"

K="You like this person, right? Or maybe you are not aware of that you do, but I see it."

B="I-I... don't know. "

K="Do you think about him often and worry about him? Does your heart beat a bit faster with him? Do you enjoy spending time with him? Does this person make you feel calm or safe, or both? If the answer is yes to these questions then you do have feelings for him. You might not be aware of it really."

K="Just like back then, I think you never really looked at your feelings for Rajiv."

"But Dorian... i-is different.." Bird noted.

K="Of course he is, but you liked Rajiv too, right? What matters is what you feel. well, if you're happy alone then it's cool, but if there's someone who treats you right and you feel safe with, then why not give him a chance? You deserve to be happy Bird. "

K="Give it a thought."

K="Well, I'd better get going, I still have to meet

Martin before I leave back to home.."

B="Thank you for visiting, and I'm sorry that

I couldn't go to the club yesterday."

K="Oh it's fine love, we had fun anyway, it was really good

to see you, let's keep in touch.."

B="Yes.."

"Now give me a hug.." Kaur said and she hugged Bird tightly

B="Please send my hellos to Naomi.."

K="I will. I will visit again some day. You take care of yourself and please

be happy, you deserve it more than anything.."

B="You too."

&They kept holding each other for awhile...

And later in the afternoon, Bird went to see Yaz

and while she was making coffee, Bird was looking at the picture of Yaz, Dorian and their mom on the table..

Y="Oh that's an oldie, 7 years old I think.."

B="It's your mother?"

Y="Yes, I remember it was right before she was diagnosed, those

were the good times then..:"

"I'm sorry..." Bird said, though she already knew that their mother

Maryam had died of cancer.

"Yeah, it's sad but life is sometimes..

I guess we have that in common too, no parents.." Yaz said

she knew that Bird didn't have parents or at least she didn't

know anything about them, she had no memory still..

"And we still have each other, me and Dorian and sometimes I wonder how come we are so close but it might be because of the losses also, we've been through them together, Ebi knows

that too, right?"

Yaz smirked then as Ebi sat

down on the sofa.

E="I guess.."

Y="Yeah, we've all been through much together, and by the way

you heard of Dor?"

"Nah, not today, but he must be busy as he has a lot of decisions to make.."

Ebi sighed..

Y="And you mean?"

E="Well he got accepted to the military, I mean one of them, but man, it's too faraway from here, 1000 miles or so I heard, we're never going to see him again if he goes.."

Y="Oh, well he didn't say he would go.."

"Well he should go, we all know it."

Ebi sighed "I miss him already."

While Bird was startled, she had no idea, Dorian was leaving?

& he didn't tell her anything about it, why?

For a moment she felt like she couldn't breathe,

Even though it was late at night, she went over to Dorian's house but

no one was there, and she felt hopeless,

she didn't know what to do,

she only knew that she didn't want it to happen, all possible

things ran in her mind,

she felt guilty, she felt lost, she felt

hurt as she silently stood there weeping until

"Bird?" she heard his voice,

and she immediately

turned around so that she could see him.

And she did.

There he was.

"Dorian." she stuttered quietly.
